Ingredients
- Cream cheese, softened: 8 ounces
- Brown sugar: 1/2 cup
- Granulated sugar: 1/4 cup
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- Toffee bits: 1/2 cup, divided
- Sour cream: 2 tablespoons
- Apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or your favorite): 2-3, cored and sliced
- Caramel sauce: optional, for drizzling
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Step 2: Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar to the cream cheese and mix until well combined and smooth.
- Step 3: Stir in the vanilla extract and sour cream until everything is evenly incorporated.
- Step 4: Gently fold in 1/4 cup of the toffee bits, reserving the other 1/4 cup for topping.
- Step 5: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of toffee bits over the top. Drizzle with caramel sauce, if desired.
- Step 6: Serve immediately with sliced apples for dipping. The dip can also be refrigerated for later use.
Notes
- Keep the dip refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days, but the apples are best sliced fresh right before serving.
- If the dip gets too firm after refrigeration, let it sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes to soften slightly before serving.
- For an extra special treat, try serving this dip with graham crackers or gingersnap cookies in addition to the sliced apples.
- To prevent a grainy texture, make sure your cream cheese is fully softened before mixing and beat the sugars in thoroughly.
