Ingredients
Scale
- Boxed brownie mix (and ingredients called for on the box)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
- 1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare brownie mix according to package directions and bake in a 9×13 inch pan. Let cool completely.
- Step 2: In a medium bowl, combine milk and vanilla extract. Poke holes all over the cooled brownie with a fork, then slowly pour the milk mixture over the brownie, allowing it to soak in.
- Step 3: In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
- Step 4: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the soaked brownie.
- Step 5: Drizzle with chocolate syrup and sprinkle with crushed chocolate sandwich cookies.
- Step 6: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- To prevent the brownie from becoming soggy, ensure it's completely cooled before adding the milk mixture.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; the flavors deepen beautifully over time.
- Serve cold slices of this decadent cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
- For easier slicing, chill the cake for at least 4 hours or even overnight to let the filling firm up properly.
