Delicious cheesy baked ziti recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (24 ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Cook ziti pasta according to package directions. Drain well and set aside.
  2. Step 2: In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Step 3: Stir in marinara sauce and oregano to the browned ground beef. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Step 5: In a large bowl, combine the cooked ziti, meat sauce, and ricotta cheese mixture. Mix well.
  6. Step 6: Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Top with mozzarella cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For easier slicing, let the ziti cool slightly longer than 10 minutes before serving.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat individual portions in the microwave or bake covered in the oven to prevent the cheese from drying out.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat sauce while it simmers.
