- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 6 cups Special K cereal
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Step 2: Add the sugar and corn syrup to the melted butter and stir until well combined. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Step 3: Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the peanut butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until everything is smooth and fully incorporated.
- Step 4: Add the Special K cereal to the mixture and gently fold it in until all the cereal is evenly coated.
- Step 5: Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch pan. Press down firmly and evenly with a spatula or the back of a spoon.
- Step 6: Let the bars cool completely before cutting them into squares.
Notes
- Store these chewy bars in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them fresh and prevent them from drying out.
- If your bars become too firm, microwave individual squares for just a few seconds to soften them up a bit.
- Serve these bars with a cold glass of milk for a satisfying snack or dessert.
- For easier spreading, lightly warm the peanut butter in the microwave before adding it to the mixture.
