Ingredients
- Bread slices: 4 slices
- Cooked Chicken, shredded: 1/2 cup
- Pepperoni slices: 1/4 cup
- Mozzarella cheese, shredded: 1/2 cup
- Pizza sauce: 2 tablespoons
- Butter, softened: 2 tablespoons
- Italian seasoning: 1/4 teaspoon
- Garlic powder: 1/4 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Spread softened butter on one side of each bread slice.
- Step 2: On the unbuttered side of two bread slices, spread pizza sauce evenly.
- Step 3: Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of the pizza sauce, followed by shredded chicken and pepperoni slices. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garlic powder.
- Step 4: Top with the remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
- Step 5: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
- Step 6: Slice in half and serve immediately.
Notes
- Refrigerate leftover sandwiches promptly and consume within 2 days for best flavor.
- For a quick reheat, microwave in 30-second intervals until the cheese is melty again, but avoid making the bread soggy.
- Serve these grilled cheeses with a side of marinara sauce for dipping to really amp up the pizza flavor.
- Don't overcrowd the pan; cook one or two sandwiches at a time to ensure even browning and perfectly melted cheese.
