  • 1 (25 ounce) jar marinara sauce
  • 15 lasagna noodles (oven-ready, no pre-boiling)
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease. Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Step 2: In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and beaten egg. Mix well.
  3. Step 3: Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce mixture in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Step 4: Arrange a layer of oven-ready lasagna noodles over the sauce (you may need to break some to fit). Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, then sprinkle with 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese.
  5. Step 5: Repeat layers: meat sauce, noodles, remaining ricotta mixture, 1/3 mozzarella. Top with a final layer of noodles, remaining meat sauce, and remaining mozzarella cheese.
  6. Step 6: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the lasagna is heated through. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For easy storage, cool the lasagna completely, then cut into individual portions before wrapping tightly and refrigerating.
  • Reheat individual slices in the microwave for 2-3 minutes, or bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, until warmed through.
