Ingredients
- Chicken breasts: 2 large, boneless, skinless
- Turkey bacon: 6 slices
- Brown sugar: 1/4 cup, packed
- Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic powder: 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder: 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Step 2: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well to form a glaze.
- Step 3: Wrap each chicken breast with 3 slices of turkey bacon, securing with toothpicks if needed.
- Step 4: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the bacon-wrapped chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes per side, until the bacon is lightly browned.
- Step 5: Transfer the seared chicken breasts to the prepared baking dish. Brush generously with the brown sugar glaze.
- Step 6: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently in the oven or microwave, brushing with a little extra glaze to keep the chicken moist.
- Serve this dish with a side of steamed broccoli or rice to balance the richness.
- For extra flavor, try marinating the chicken in the brown sugar glaze for at least 30 minutes before wrapping with bacon.
