Delicious chocolate croissant breakfast bake that everyone loves recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Croissants (day-old preferred) – 6 large
  • Chocolate chips – 1 cup
  • Eggs – 6 large
  • Milk – 1 1/2 cups
  • Granulated sugar – 1/4 cup
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
  • Butter – 2 tablespoons, melted
  • Powdered sugar – for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Step 2: Cut the croissants into roughly 1-inch pieces. Place the croissant pieces in the prepared baking dish and sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips.
  3. Step 3: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Step 4: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissants and chocolate chips in the baking dish. Gently press down on the croissants to ensure they are submerged in the liquid.
  5. Step 5: Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the croissant mixture.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the egg mixture is set. Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar (if desired) and serving.

Notes

  • Store leftovers, tightly covered, in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a warm and gooey treat, reheat individual portions in the microwave in 30-second intervals.
  • Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
  • Using day-old croissants helps prevent a soggy bake, allowing them to better absorb the custard.
