Ingredients
- Eggs: 2 large
- Chicken Ham: 2 slices
- Bread: 2 slices
- Cheese slice: 1 slice (cheddar or your preference)
- Butter: 1 tablespoon
- Salt: Pinch
- Black pepper: Pinch
- Cooking oil spray: As needed
Instructions
- Step 1: Lightly spray a non-stick skillet with cooking oil spray and place over medium heat.
- Step 2: Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook to your desired doneness (scrambled, fried, or over easy). Season with salt and pepper. If making scrambled, scramble as they cook. If making fried or over easy, cook until the whites are set and the yolks are still runny.
- Step 3: While the eggs are cooking, lightly butter the bread slices.
- Step 4: Place the chicken ham slices in a separate pan or microwave them briefly until heated through.
- Step 5: Once the eggs are cooked, place them on one slice of buttered bread. Top with the cheese slice and the heated chicken ham.
- Step 6: Cover with the other slice of buttered bread and serve immediately.
Notes
- For optimal flavor, assemble the sandwich just before serving to prevent the bread from becoming soggy.
- Reheat a fully assembled sandwich in a panini press or skillet to keep the bread crispy and the cheese melty.
- Consider adding a smear of Dijon mustard or a thin slice of tomato for an extra flavor boost.
- Gently poke the egg yolks with a toothpick while frying for even cooking and preventing messy splatters.
