Delicious greek chicken marinade recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Olive oil: 1/4 cup
  • Lemon juice: 1/4 cup
  • Dried oregano: 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic, minced: 4 cloves
  • Dijon mustard: 1 tablespoon
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Dried thyme: 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, garlic, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and thyme.
  2. Step 2: Place chicken in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
  3. Step 3: Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring all pieces are coated.
  4. Step 4: Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours for maximum flavor.
  5. Step 5: Remove chicken from the marinade and discard the used marinade. Cook chicken as desired (grill, bake, pan-fry, etc.)

Notes

  • Store leftover marinade ingredients separately in airtight containers to keep the dried herbs fresh and the garlic pungent for future batches.
  • For wonderfully moist reheated chicken, add a splash of chicken broth during the reheating process.
  • Serve your marinated Greek chicken with a vibrant cucumber and tomato salad for a truly authentic Mediterranean experience.
  • Don't over-marinate, as the lemon juice can toughen the chicken if left for longer than 8 hours.
